Pineapple Wild Blueberry Smoothie

Pineapple SmoothieI’ve completely fallen head over heels for my newest breakfast smoothie. It isn’t very complicated, but the way the flavors combine is absolutely delectable. I call it “heaven in a glass.”

Pineapple is loaded with Vitamin C and Bromelain – a powerful enzyme that aids in digestion, cleaning blood and reducing “ulcerative colitis.” It is also rich in manganese and Vitamin B1. Wild blueberries are high in the antioxidant anthocyanin. As a matter of fact, it is higher in concentration than traditional blueberries. This phytochemical is wonderful for fighting off oxidative stress, brain health and reducing inflammation. And of course, bananas are high in potassium. The three combined are a sheer powerhouse of good health!


  • 1/4 pineapple
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup of Wild Blueberries (Found in the frozen section of your grocery)
  • 1 Tbsp of Ground Flax Seed
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1 Scoop of unflavored / unsweetened Whey Protein – from Grass Fed Cows preferably
  • 1/4 cup mint or basil (I’ve had both and each adds a hint of unique flavor)


Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately.
