As much as I love sandwiches, I don’t eat them very often. And, when I do, you’ll often find me taking off one or both layers of bread or bun. This is because bread, gluten and wheat products, for the most part, give me a bloaty belly. I wouldn’t say I am completely allergic to wheat or gluten, I’m just sensitive to them. So, unless the bread is really good, I avoid it. That said, Ezekiel bread by Food For Life is fantastic and doesn’t give me the same issues.
I haven’t tried all of their products, but we’ve been regularly buying Ezekiel 4:9 and Ezekiel Sesame 4:9. These breads are 100% flourless and are made from freshly sprouted organically grown grains. The sprouting process changes gluten to a more digestible or tolerable state, so for those who have mild gluten sensitivities, sprouted products may cause no adverse side affects or allergic reactions.
Unlike typical wheat or white bread, Ezekiel breads are extremely robust in flavor and are full of healthy nutrients. They are rich in protein, vitamins, minerals and natural fiber with no added fat. The bread also provides a complete protein, containing all 18 amino acids and 9 essential amino acids.
